About The Clutter

The Clutter is a home for anyone who’s ever loved a moody room, a plant that looks like it belongs, or a thrifted dresser with “just enough” character. If you’ve ever felt like the internet’s decorating advice was all bright white walls and minimalist everything, and you wanted something with a little more soul (and a little more black), you’re in the right place.

What we’re about

We cover the decor that doesn’t usually get its own seat at the table: gothic and dark interiors, witchy and occult-inspired styling, tattoo art on the walls, antiques with a past, and the plants dramatic enough to hold their own in a dark room. It’s decorating for people who want their space to feel like them. A little romantic, a little rebellious, a little lived-in.

Here’s what you’ll typically find us writing about:

Dark & gothic home decor
Room ideas, mood boards, and shopping guides for pulling off the look without it feeling like a costume.

Plants for moody spaces
The dramatic, dark-leaved, low-light-tolerant plants that actually thrive in a room full of black paint and candlelight.

DIY & upcycling
Painting, gilding, and transforming furniture and frames so you don’t have to choose between “gothic” and “affordable.”

Antiques & thrifted finds
How to spot the good stuff, where to look, and how to bring it home without overpaying.

Tattoo-inspired art
Flash-style prints and unique pieces.

Who this is for

You don’t need to already own a velvet couch or know exactly what your aesthetic is to be here. We want to connect with you weather you’re are fully committed to the aesthetic and want to go deeper, or if you’re just dark-decor-curious and want one room, one shelf, or one plant to start with. All are welcome. We try to write guides that meet you wherever you’re starting from. No gatekeeping, no assuming you already have the vocabulary or the budget.

We’re building out our boards and pins over on Pinterest, so if this is your kind of clutter, stick around.
